There will be reviews incoming over the next few days as I finally tackle four months of books that I've basically skipped due to other obligations. Get ready!

Finally getting back to this, switching to audiobook. I like the fast pace of this story so far and lots of secrets to be had.

Is it just me, or is every other YA Fantasy or female led Fantasy just slapped with a "Romantasy" label nowadays even if it's just a romance side plot?

Interesting, this is feeling more thriller like with fantastical elements. Enjoying it so far.

Finally making my way through this one. Liking it so far.

That sequence in chapter 23 reminded me a lot of The Secret World of Alex Mack.

The Liar is a great villain, very scary. This book is reminding me a little bit of Fortune's Kiss (which is a good thing).

Lots of magical mischief afoot and some surprise guests have come in!

Really excited to finally dive into the second half of this story after so long!

OOH, the stakes are going way up!

So we're on a time hopping adventure with the other boy this time... Interesting. Still not a fan of the "monster" designation for these time travelers.

That was quite the surprising opening to this sequel. And it seems like a road trip. Good thing I got a map from elsewhere since the audiobook doesn't supply one.

Interesting premise so far. A non-verbal with an interesting ability.

OOH, the pacing is really good and it's doing a jigsaw puzzle plot pretty well if I can put together the pieces without too much trouble.

Our protagonists have met. Also we have a POV character who in the audiobook sounds like "Jail", though it's likely spelled "Jeo".

This has a Final Fantasy VII vibe for sure, at least from the early parts. And it seems like the journey is starting! Side note, it feels like Ren's little Uncle is more like an older brother due to them being about a year apart in age.

Well, didn't expect death and murder in this cozy boarding room tale. Still having fun with it though.

I like the vibe of this story, feels almost like those 1990's middle grade stories where the kids have to figure the mystery out while dodging the adults.

I'm really immersed in this story right now of all these children trying to adjust to a life back in the regular world after ending up in magical realms. Also, Nancy is asexual. Pretty interesting.

Oh, apparently, this takes place in Doral, Florida (west of Miami).

That was quite interesting there. I'm enjoying the fast pace of the story so far.

Liking it so far and enjoying it more than expected! Love the snark of the protagonist and seems like we're diving into a lot of classism issues here. Also, takes place in Miami, with some fictional version of Palm Beach Island as the home of the rich.

A fun story so far.

I just figured out the trope this story is operating on: it's a platonic, non-superhero version of "Likes Clark Kent, Hates Superman".

Interesting conversation about aro/ace stuff! Though I wonder if Jo is neurodivergent as well (possibly autistic).
