This book has me pausing just long enough to send up a prayer that this one character isn't going to turn into a backstabber :sob:

Don't mind me, vibing with Envy and hoping we get to see some more loveliness and "unexpected" positive interactions with him. (And that Gluttony makes a comeback in this book, too)

Me, reluctantly going to bed at an unholy hour because I don't want to stop reading this book? Whaaaaaaat

There are so many good parts in this book (dialogue especially), but I think my favorite section is Titus's highhanded way of saying, "Eat shit and go to hell" to the Bane XD

“You have to first go to Mrs. Hancock’s office to sign a visitor’s register. She is determined to keep unwholesome influences out of this house,” Iolanthe told him.
“Then what are you doing inside?” West retorted, good-naturedly.
“Obviously her vigilance is no match for my cunning.”

This book XD

I know there will be but still inner me shouts, "IF THERE'S ONE MORE FRIGGIN TIME-JUMP AFTER A CLIFFHANGER, I'M ENDING IT ALL"

It's like the author suddenly had a hilarious streak while writing, because I've been laughing out loud for, like, 5 minutes straight XD

Note to Future Jessie: No matter what twist endings the book may have, no matter how much you might go, "Oh, I'm sure the next one will be better," DO NOT pick up the next book.
Remember all the stupid decisions and "feelings" Luce is making and having in this one? Remember how pissed you got and how much you don't vibe with her? Hang onto those feelings, sister. Hang on.

Upon realizing that people make dumb-fricking decisions and that relationships set by an author aren't going to change just because I stare at a page and will them to, I would like to informally announce my retirement from this world.

Tragedy of tragedies regarding a previous statement I made while reading through this book

*funny accent* I cry

At almost 2/3 the way through this book, I'm thinking Bryce and Aelin would be the thickest of thieves and share waaaay too many wicked smiles

Slowly becoming less of a fan of Hunt/Bryce as a couple... I hope that it's a subtle shift in SJM's writing gearing me toward that feeling, and not just me being like, "Yeah, I'm not vibing with them anymore"

This book started rough, kids, not gonna lie.

A couple chapters in, I got hooked... to the point where I looked at the clock and realized it was 1:15am and I had to get up in 6 hours. Upon getting up, I decided to skip workout and lay in bed for two hours to keep reading.

So far, it reads like SJM, but with a twist. There are a lot of similar plot elements, but it's more of a mystery than previous series
