Good. Bette than I was expecting.

There is no world beyond this place. I cannot miss what does not exist.

Main character has made some hard to understand choices, but I dig the world building.

I’m digging it.

I guess young woman who had to move a lot as a kid and learn to survive because she had shitty parents is a modern trope. Also, I was digging it more before it became supernatural.

James Baldwin was a wild motherfucker.

First off, Baldwin’s prose is like no other. Strong and beautiful.

Second, his storytelling sucks you in immediately with such real characters that you can almost hear and touch.

Third. Just fucking wow.

Digging it.

This shit is bleak. But great to see the street names I know talked about in terms of 70-80 years ago.

This started off with some interesting depictions of hell and demons, now it’s kind of boring and pointless.

Sexuality being a spectrum in 1940 amongst young white men at war. You love to see it.

I am going down a WW2 hole, but I am not becoming a 65 year old dad.

It’s long but dope.

This book feels like home

The shittiness of the American Healthcare system forcing old people to borrow money from the Ukrainian and Albanian mafias to pay their daughter’s medical bills leads to a fun Jack Reacher book. Who would have thought.

I see why George Constanza never returned this book to the library.
