Part 1 was a wonderful account of the beauty and energy that Greece elicits. Miller is a talented travel writer, his prose is some of my favorite. I was surprised this novel was absent of the vulgarity and lust that Miller is known for, but alas it showed up in part 2.

Greece.

Caddie smells like trees - climbing the tree “forbidden fruit” to gain knowledge and peak in the funeral, after seeing a snake - parallel to Eve.

Benji is sheltered from family events, funerals and weddings, as he keeps “moaning” and is a nuisance to the family. Caddie smells like trees is comforting to Benji. “Unlucky Three” three family members dead?

Benji likes golf, when they say “Caddie”
