I’m sure this is a delightful read, but I won’t be finishing it - only because it’s not my favorite genre and is written for a much younger audience. I’m not getting a ton of the references.

I’m putting this book on hold for now. It was first published in 1900, and it does have the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur, dated 1899. Many quotes are referenced to the Bible. However I’ve found several unfamiliar quotes that the author attributed to Christ, but with no references. He has also added fantastical detail to facts that we know very little about. This is a TAN book, reprinted in 2015.

I’m one-third of the way through. This is a DNF. I gave it a fighting chance. There are other books I’d rather read.

This is great so far! Kind of hard to work through, but worth it. I’m currently finished with the first five mansions. The two most beautiful mansions yet await.

I'm only through the 2nd Castle, so I still have a ways to go to reach perfection in prayer. :) But I'm taking notes and enjoying the book.
