I'm thoroughly enjoying this. I'm laughing out loud driving around town. I love these characters. I love the author's insight into the emotional life of paid assassins. I even like the sexy parts. And I never like the sexy parts. It's also a little crass, which I heartily enjoy. I can see how it wouldn't be for everybody but I love it.

DNF gave up. I thought it started out cute and then it jumped the shark a bit. I did not like the goat or the dog. I liked the pony a lot, but the other two just spoiled the soup, so to speak.

Ithaca 🤩 featured

I'm really surprised by the character development of the protagonist and her step sister. The exchanges between the two do not feel authentic or realistic. I'm also surprised by the quality of writing and the content of the story. It's not in keeping with the other novels I've read by this author.

This so so much fun. The narrator has a fierce potty mouth and a wicked streak of sarcasm.

I think this book is so sad. Her relationship with her mother, it's just so... Sad. I'm almost done with the audiobook. I can't imagine what's going to happen in this last little bit of the book that would propel me on to choose reading the second book in the series...

It's Eudora's birthday in chapter one and I started reading (listening to) this today which is my birthday. Funny.

Loving this! She is so funny!

Super interesting, but very difficult to listen to as it takes me back to my husband's experience, his diagnosis and treatment for mesothelioma. He was treated at the same hospital as the author. I'm listening to the audiobook, but not on my way to work as my face ends up all pink and splotchy.

I'm halfway through, and while I enjoyed hearing about Ithaca, this book is just too slow and uninteresting. Sorry, but I'm moving on.

April just got to Ithaca, I can't remember exactly what year it is but she's talking about going into the Home Dairy for a cup of coffee. She's talking about what the people look like on the Ithaca Commons. She's completely right in her descriptions and it's nice to go back in time, I'm chuckling as I listen. And missing the Home Dairy. (Biggest half moon cookies I've ever seen).

I've really been grooving on this book. I love the protagonist, she's amazing. I love learning about the culture and I've really enjoyed the storyline and the mystery of who done it. I'm 3/4 the way done with the audiobook and I'm a little disappointed and where the author has taken us. I feel like we took a little bit of the left turn at Albuquerque. And I feel like there is a missing piece of grief for the loss of

A bit slow getting going, about a third of the way in and so far the story is very subtle and sedate. I hope things pick up very soon.

So far this is excellent. I'm really enjoying the pacing, the dual timelines, the characters, the setting the details. The language, the blur of reality. Damn it's good. I hope it stays that way. (Fingers crossed)

I'm so disappointed in this latest novel from Deanna Raybourn. 😔 I was really looking forward to listening to the audiobook, sadly I'm finding the story falling completely flat. It's not engaging at all.

This one is a little sad...bumming me out a bit.

This is such a fun read, I love Island and March, and I've missed them. This fifth installation has me laughing out loud and remembering fondly the four adventures that came before. A wonderfully entertaining escapade that takes my mind off the state of chaos in the real world right now.

Hoping Evan Hansen gets a good smack down before we wrap this thing up. Am I the only one who thinks this lying liar is punk...?

Not feeling it with this one, the dialogue is slight less that realistic, the characters feel flat and one dimensional and the storyline has some holes. I really wanted to stick it out for the"magical" parts with her Dad but I don't see it happening for me.

More than half way through and suddenly there are dragons. 🐉 I'm a little sad, not a fan of dragons, I probably would have skipped this one if I'd known about the dragons.

Bailing out, I really enjoyed the first one. Sadly this one just didn't keep my attention, 300 pages in and nothing's making me curious. I'm not really invested in these characters this time around. 🙁

Omg! This author is cracking me up! I love the so called quotes or excerpts she uses to start every chapter. Hysterical! And all the rest is charming too, a fabulously fun series.
