Not horrible. Dying to know what species Lorelei is though.

As with book 1, I can’t get past how shallow Delphine is and how her libido seems to control her. Spicy is one thing. But a protagonist who willing has sex with 2 of the fae princes who tried to kill her AT THE SAME TIME IN A PUBLIC PLACE is too much for me.

I like the story so far despite how unbelievable it is that a bunch of teens are sent out into space immediately after graduating from a military academy without any more experienced officers. It’s also confusing because it’s told from 7 different POVs.

Struggled at first, but now I'm getting into the story. Unable to find any official maps of Achar, but I found one on Deviant Art listed as Tencendor. There is definitely a co-relation to how the Church destroyed the ancient pagan religions.

The problem with historical fiction: fucking up the actual historical events to suit the author’s version of events.
Edward the Confessor’s wife Edith was 20 when they married in 1045, not 13 in 1050. Also, Douglass describes Matilda of Flanders as being about 4 feet tall, but scientists have measured her skeleton and determined she was at least 5 feet tall.

I’m captivated. I’ve been wanting to read this for a long time, but it was always checked out, especially the digital version. Extremely violent at times. Rape of a minor, but not detailed.

I’m mesmerized by this story. This would make such a great tv show!

Great story except the creepiness of a 53 yo vampire child in a 10 yo body having sex with a 23 yo man. I like the first person narrative.

I want the stories of the Ancient Akunnaki back! Not this drivel about Islamic extremists who want to kill all the infidels. Even the Pope is in on the killing, authorizing the assassination of Fullerton and killing Muslims.

This sequel is so much better than the first book! While reading the chronicles of the Guardians, Daniel Jackson…oops…I mean Tim Fullerton discovers the ‘true’ history of Bible Patriarch Abraham. Just finished the chapter about how Abraham fled Ur and why. Much more interesting than the Biblical account. Unfortunately, Cathy is still a doorstop.

I’m struggling to read this book. It seemed interesting and the author provides in-depth descriptions of the environment, but as he’s probably Australian, he uses Aussie slang frequently. Book published in 2006 and I’m wondering if Aussies still use terms like blackfella and joke about dead Chinamen. At least he hasn’t called the main female a Sheila YET.

Halfway through and noticed an editing issue. Apparently, no one observed that Wilfred was assisting Paris instead of Alfred. Wilfred is limited to the godmothers college.

I read the previous book in the series in the past year and struggling to remember the details. Wish it included a recap of the previous books.

Jenny still doesn’t appeal to me. Gwen on the other hand, like Cela, is a strong female character. Trying to remember Jenny has been through some major trauma. She’s also young and poorly educated.

I got bored halfway through and returned it.

Is Mordaunt the equivalent of Merlin from Arthurian legend? He tells a story of two warring kings that is exactly like the story of how Arthur was conceived. Could Eilean, pronounced Ay-lun, be the equivalent of Morgan La Fey? Mordaunt is teaching Eilean magic and how to be a lady (Pygmalion anyone?) by teaching her to speak “correctly” and how to act as if she’s better than the other “wretcheds”.

I like that Lora is independent. Unfortunately ,in the drákon culture, or nature, the males are aggressive and domineering. Armand is obviously fighting his drákon nature.
