Reading this book, I‘m wondering is the protagonist ( Rowan ) will choose to become one of the smart Scythe or the Scythe who don’t have any emotion while killing the people and enjoying the job. This is because, Rowan is one of the failure of the apprentice from two different scythes, which changed his personality a lot through out the 1st book.

Through out the book, I noticed every Scythes have different punishment for themselves because for Scythes Faraday usually goes to the funeral after he gleaned people. However, interestingly for Scythe Curie she chose welcoming the family; who lost their family member, come to her house and get a chance to kill Scythes to get rid of the anger. I’m thinking about what will I do if I was a Scythe for my punishment.

I noticed that the author used “ terrified “ a lot as showing the expressions of the reactions when the protagonists or the people saw Scythe. Also this story is getting interesting because one of the main Scythe of the book is telling that he is dead by himself. However, I wonder it is a true because in the book, it wasn’t announced from the head of the Scythe. I think it is getting interesting.

While reading this book, it hooked me to read more because the author used a lot of descriptive words of how the gleaning is happening and the situation of the book. Moreover, it makes me curious who will become a Scythe and gain the immortality between two different protagonists. Finally, the author’s detailed description created the moods more realistic and fun to read. Therefore, I want to learn more about it.

I think this book is showing the topic what we are learning in humanity class because in this book, Capitol is controlling the other 12 districts by showing the videos of the district 13 and starting the game. From this book, Peeta is showing that he doesn’t want to be controlled from the Capitol and show them he is not under them. He is special.

I think from this book, I can see the author used the a lot of action words to describe how was the life in the mill when they were young. Also from different types of emotional words, I could feel the protagonists position in the book.

The author mentioned the dock behind the house in order to flash back of the protagonists’ past time. This is because from the explanation of the setting, the readers can understand the importance of the setting which leads the story. Moreover, the flash back helps the readers to recognise the difference between present and before and the relationship the protagonists are building up throughout the book.
