Dr. Golem Berrah's story reminds me of our national hero.
I enjoyed reading the first part of his story, and I look forward to knowing more about his life as a scientist and as someone involved with politics.
The first part of the book is informative, especially about the life in Algeria as part of France.
I would not have a copy of this book if not for the Online Book Club.

I got the ARC in January, but my kindle and NetGalley apps were not working properly.
Finally, I managed to get a copy even after it was archived many months ago.
The first part revealed the daughter's feelings toward her mother, and it kept on repeating throughout the first quarter of the book.
I look forward to reading another chapter with a different scenario.

The story gets repetitive with the Count's shenanigans.
What else is new here?
I used to enjoy reading this in the beginning, but I'm getting disappointed with Edmund's evil plans.
Are they even worth it?
I guess it's because he has all the money to let the others pay for the suffering he endure a DECADE ago....?

The plot thickens, and it gets more complex than ever. There are new characters after 33% through the book, and I hope they get enough exposure later on in the story. Sometimes I wonder how they will be related to the characters in Edmund's past life.
I still enjoy reading the book, and I did not find anything disappointing yet.

I don't usually judge most books by their covers, but this one reminds me of my SO's affinity to anything upside down.
I am more inclined to pick up a book after reading its title. I heard about Laura Ingalls, but I haven't read any of her books.
I am halfway through the story, and I enjoy reading the detailed documentation of the 1800s reenactment version of Big Brother.

Interesting topic. It tackles infertility issues and other things I want to know. I know several people who can't get pregnant, and I am thinking of recommending this book sometime later. I want them to know that at least they're not alone in the struggle.
One thing that bugs me is the dismissive attitude of the author's husband.

The story added new characters, and it makes me confused between Frank and Albert.
Who is Peppino? I forgot about him, or I don't remember how he came to be related to the Count of Monte Cristo.
I have some questions about Mercedes and other characters of Edmund's past.
Who is this Greek girl? Oh, so many questions.
It's getting more and more intriguing as I flip through the pages.

I just finished reading the first volume last night. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of the classics that make me want to read for more. The longer I read it, the more intense the drama unfolds. It's a page-turner that I could not put down until few minutes before midnight!

I picked this classic for a private Book Club on Facebook group chat. There are fewer than ten of us, so I'm a bit pressured to participate. (haha)

Good thing this is plot-oriented and fast-paced. I'm still in the beginning and I'm loving the story. Too bad, I already know the spoilers. Still an engaging read, though.

I have a lot of questions for the main character in the story, but I guess they will be answered when I finish reading the entire book.
I can tell she misses more about Baltimore than her grandmother.

I am reading this book for the second time because I want to relive the funny scenes in the story. Still never fails to crack me up with comical relief in some serious scenarios.

Told from the perspective of an unborn baby?...hm..I haven't read a book like this. (Well, unless you include a green joke.)
I heard about the hype of Ian McEwan's Atonement, so I found this book and began reading it.
It's full of philosophical musings....
The short number of pages is tempting enough for me to finish reading it within the day.

I am in love with Maggie Stiefvater's The Scorpio Races novel, so I set my expectations too high for this. However, I am not a fan of stories with werewolves in them. Additionally, I am more into fast-paced books, so I got impatient to learn that this pace is kinda slow (and similar to Twilight).
This year, I am determined to accomplish reading all the books listed in NPR's Top 100 Young Adult books, so here we go...
