I'm loving the beginning of this longer short story. So many "Poirotisms." :)
He's definitely one of my favorite literary characters!

Reading with son, spending less time on screens... this is pretty fun.

I am loving this epic book! 1000 pages??? Holy cow! It is profoundly written. The character development is amazing! So deep, & also so tragic in its scope.

"For a time Dish lost all sense of what life was about...He was just a fellow with a glass in his hand, whose life had suddenly turned to mud... so puzzled by the strange business called life that he couldn’t think where to look, much less what to say."

God calls people to repent long before the day of his wrath... God wishes that everyone would turn from evil and receive his forgiveness.

There are a lot of people who don't like the Old Testament and say God is a 'god of destruction,' or 'mean,' or somehow.
Context is imperative. Some research is needed to see what was happening in the time this book of Zephaniah was written. How were people living? How were nations treating each other? It was incredibly brutal. Just look into the practices of those who worshipped molek.

I took a chance on this as it was only .99 cents on Kindle. I didn't think I'd like it, to be honest. But so far, it's been pretty good.

I'm slowly meandering through this letter of Paul. It's deep. I'm trying to marinate in what it's trying to say. It's been a rather long process, but that's ok

It's a bit of a slow burner, but around chapter 11 or 12, it got CRAZY!!! :)

Listening to the audio book of this... Struggling to get into it. I really only like Miss Marple...The rest of the characters are kinda pretentious.

Halfway through & I'm thinking about quitting this one. The main character is well, she is too pretentious. A woke justice warrior tale where Scottish men are bad, & she is the harbinger of all that is wholesome in the world. Im ALL for a strong female lead, but not all of the Scottish people are racists. All men are not misogynistic. Not all religious people are bigoted & without compassion. It's just a bit much

Blowing my mind!!! Listening to the audio with tons of extras between David & the Narrators...soooo good!

Not that good, & I'm trying to figure out if I'll just give up at this point. The usual lazy troupes of woke politics flood this story way too much.

Just finished the first chaptet & Yoooo his childhood is traumatic to say the least. I couldn't believe it when I discovered that I grew up at the exact same time as David & a few minutes down the road in Buffalo, NY!!! #716 #BillsMafia

At first I rejected David's content because of his demeanor when I saw clips of him on Joe Rogan's podcast... but now I'm very open to what he has to say.
