received an ARC of grim tidings, need to read book #1 first!! christmas in august?!?!

second time starting this book - finally got past the Skull's Bay situation and WHAT A TREAT in chapter 38.

kristin hannah has done it again 🥹💔 i really did not know anything about the vietnam war prior to reading this book. absolutely loved learning about the experiences of the female nurses & how they were treated upon their arrivals back home. only reason why i'm giving 4.5 stars and not 5 is that i did not love the romantic subplots 🤷🏼‍♀️ were they necessary?
