Finally a good SA Barnes book, I was ready to write these books off entirely but this one was pretty good and creepy

Dead silence and ghost station were missed marks.
So we will see how this one goes and if it’s also a miss, I’m done with this author

James vandermeer books annoy me. They never resolve and when they do it’s confusing af. His writing style annoys me. His prose really irritates me. Yet I keep reading them 😠

This book is simultaneously irritating me with its NYC specifics but also you can’t possibly appreciate this book fully if you don’t have personal knowledge of the city layout so idk

So confession, i had tried to read this before and got to page 30 and then DNF'd it but I am gonna try again. It is 100 pages. I can do it.
