I will say I’m really not the biggest fan of the whole trope of the main characters not communicating and that’s what pushes the plot forward. This is the 4th book of hers I have read in a row and I think it is her favourite trope because it comes up in every book to the point that it’s not realistic for people to be this bad at communicating.

Maybe a bad idea reading 3 of her books in a row. It’s getting quite repetitive…

Tough to get into initially but I find that’s true of all of Emily Henry’s books for me. But now that I’ve gotten a bit farther into it I’m loving the dynamic between Poppy and Alex. I feel like I can really feel their friendship and connection.

I can’t tell how I feel about this book. It honestly so far feels like there is no real cohesive plot. It’s just a bunch of random things happening that are kind of connected. Maybe that’s the point. Although I feel like this book would be much more confusing if I couldn’t read Czech so I’m curious about what other people think about it and the amount of untranslated Czech used.

It’s not bad. Just a bit boring which is making it hard to get through. It feels like nothing is really happening or the same thing over and over.

It feels like the more adult version of a children’s fairytale which is quite nice. I do struggle with Sanderson’s writing style as I find it doesn’t pull me in as much as some other books and authors, but the story itself is really good. And I like the small mention to Sazed.

I have been devouring this book. Poor Haymitch though. This is not new but if you think too hard about what happened in this book it’s incredibly disturbing. Even though I knew how it was going to end it has still been sad.

There’s something about reading this and knowing the ending that almost makes it better. You read the foreshadowing and can understand it right away which is cool. Like *spoiler* him talking about breaking the arena with an axe or Plutarch using the flower to hint to what the arena will be like.

It’s also so nostalgic reading this it’s so great.

Still good. But I needed to say that I think Libby bothers me as a character. Maybe there is something I’m not seeing but she reads more like a 13 year old than a grown woman. I also can’t stand her calling Nora Sissy all the time.

It got a lot better. It feels more real and cute now. Would recommend.

So far I’m finding it a bit tough to get into. I just don’t feel connected to the characters. It also feels quite predictable which I usually don’t mind but is rubbing me the wrong way for some reason. Fingers crossed it gets better.
