Struggling to read this....it's not that it's not well written, it's a bit off-putting. Every interaction with a Trinidadian shows us in such distasteful light. I've read other immigrant stories (albeit based in the USA or UK); however this one for the 1st 50 pages has no shed one beneficial thing about being an (illegal) immigrant in Trinidad. Surely there should have been at least one rewarding feature?
