The book looks stunning, with golden edged paper, linen covers, it’s filled with beautiful, quality photographs and it weighs a ton! It deserves 5 stars just for the layout and the looks

You know that feeling when sometimes you are only just a few pages in a book and you already know you’re going to love it?

For now I’m putting this on hold. It’s not the right moment (maybe?) but I really have very strong feelings of disliking David and I’m not sure if he will grow on me 🤔😩

I must admit that, for a book by one of my most favorite authors, it took me a while to get into it, but I think I’m finally starting to see the whole picture of what happened.

I am so disappointed, I loved the cover and I loved the premise of this book and I just don’t care about either mc. It may be early to dnf, but I don’t feel any connection to Lane nor Gala and frankly, I am not the least curious about what happened between them. The scenery is uninspiring and too easy - it’s the mid sixties in the L.A. Canyons, there’s sex, drugs and music, and nothing happens. So I’m out

Still not sure what to think about this book, as I have reached the 50% mark and they just had sex with a girl and there’s still no real mention of them feeling more than just friendship for one another🤔

The vibes this book gives me already, I need to take my time reading this as I want to wrap myself in it like it’s a soft, warm blanket. Cat Sebastian is such a genius

This guy is narrating so fast I had to go check my audio speed 😳🙈

Reading the audiobook

So, since this is a little different from my usual reads (the being into space thing, not the mm romance of course), I have to trust my gr friends who love this book. Excited to dive in, nonetheless 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Doing the audiobook of this well beloved tv series🥰

I had started this book a little while ago, put it aside since it didn’t really capture me. But I wanted to give it another chance, and now I’m hooked!

I just get so happy reading this book! Exactly the kind of happy that reading is supposed to make you feel😊

I love KD Casey’s mm baseball romances, and (finally!) having a new book by her where I got my hands on makes me one happy girl! And so far this feels very much like a KD Casey book and I’m giddy with anticipation!

A few pages in and I get the feeling I am happy that I have made an exception to request this arc. It feels very different from what I have come to expect from Fearne, though the writing is as good as ever

Hmmm…started skipping. I’m a little bored to be honest 🙁

I wish NR Walker would still write like this

Feeling really privileged reading 3 of my absolute FAVORITE authors at the same time, TJR in a hardcover version, John Boyne on my Kindle and Suanne Laqueur in my ears. Life can never be better than this 💖

I remember when I read this book many years ago that it was the first book that made me weep uncontrollably. I’m not far in yet and I still think it’s one of the better books about grief. It touches you deeply

Only a few pages in I feel disgusted by the realisation that this was written in 1962, 100 years after the abolition, in a time that segregation was still a common practice, and it might as well have been published today. The majority of the people will never learn, and it’s maddening and shameful and awful sad at the same time.

Maybe I should stop having these high expectations when I read a blurb that seems so right for me. I love YA, but there are some things in this book that start to get on my nerves a little bit. Not giving up yet, though.

It’s been a while since I felt myself so invested in an mm romance🤗 it feels really good🥰

So far it’s been a bit disappointing in that that I expected to be blown away by this book and I am not, so maybe a case of expectations set too high 🤔

Seeing the year this was published (1959) I will probably need to look past the subjectives used to describe the Comache and Kiowa tribes that raided Fort Parker and captured Cynthia Ann and her brother John. But there’s no doubt how the author thought of them and I didn’t count on this kind of prejudice when I picked this book to read 😕

Another book from my past followed by an incredible, unforgettable movie.
