I'm not going to like this section. I'm sorry but if I was that upset his attentions wouldn't work.

Oh my goodness, I can't take it. I keep yelling at the book. These people are just too dense. I think I'm going to have to take a break.

I realize her father pounded these ideas into her head, but this is annoying & ridiculous. And someone this dumb can't be a heroine, just the female lead.

Gees, you'd think she'd cooperate when someone said they weren't going to hurt you but you'd be in trouble if you didn't do as you were told.

Not a fan of the writing style; I usually prefer dialog but not in this story. Unnecessary use of foul language and way too much violence.

I realize she's falling for him. And he does treat her well in and out of bed. Not sure what he's done to make her fall in love but after he called her a possession, I'd think that would make her defensive not submissive.

Too much death & stupidity.

Oh my this is taking forever. Lots of details on places & things, not much on feelings & emotions. Might be historical but not romance. Good thing it was free but not worth my time at the moment.

Finally, a man actually able to behave!

And I don't care how big her chest was, if she was so tiny she should have fit in the peasant clothes that he had tried on.

If Tessa is such a "student of writing" why did it take this long for her to realize his letters were written by a different "voice?"

The level of writing skill isn't very advanced. There isn't much depth or feeling for the characters. Something is missing to the flow.

Time to get back to reading this.

Going to take a break from this story. Too sad to keep going at this point. In the mood for a lighter story.

I realize she doesn't want to be stuck with Samuel but to not stick up for her sister? That sounds mean.

While I don't care much for Allison (I realize she was sheltered but can she be that dimwitted) & part of the plot seems far fetched, Wes is adorable & I just want to give him a big hug.

Enough hard times already.

Of course I don't care for the part of the story that deals with the uncle but I guess it is necessary. I like that the attraction is becoming mutual already. Nice read that keeps me going, even when I should put it down.

This seems slow. Not sure what ending I'm rooting for.

Although this gives Annie options without making us feel too bad for John, I don't like that her sister would start trying to steal her man the moment she left. I thought they were closer than that.

She goes from wanting to make up to Luke to thinking she has to leave. She's so confusing.

Neither character is anything to write home about.

So far Luke isn't doing much to prove himself as a worthy character. Confused why he secretly did something nice but is rude or grumpy in public.

I realize Silas was at a breaking point but the transformation was a little too complete too fast.
