So, just read the prologue. I'm hooked.

"Krohn--the ever-growing white leopard cub Thor had once rescued..." Yesterday. You "once rescued" him yesterday.

A little disappointed in this being solely Sardelle and Ridge. Sardelle is boring. She has two other main characters here, a STRONG woman and a mad scientist. Yeah, Ridge's head is fun to be in, but Sardelle is boring.

Slightly unsure how I feel about Cas already calling him "her pirate."

I can't decide if I want Lavinia to be a secret rebel like Owen is, or if I just hope she's the farthest thing from the love of his life.

Ha!

And also Kaladin, while you're delving into Renarin's epilepsy, figure out what that box he carries around is! We've heard even less from him in this book than the first.

No! Ugh, I don't understand HOW. He was being honorable, trying to save lives on the bridge, and yes he failed, but he was TRYING. How does that kill Syl?!

I feel as if his bond with Syl would be stronger if he would learn to accept the blame for things instead of always pushing them off on the lighteyes. No, if he could accept blame for the RIGHT things, the man already blames himself for all the wrong ones. He needs to get away and have a chance to resee the world, to gain a clear head, or his wretched self will be just an inch away forever.

Also, on the subject f Kaladin, in the first book he came off as very knowledgable about the world, but we never saw him through anyone else's eyes. Well, we did at the end, but not much. In this one I'm noticing for the first time that Kal is still young, and doesn't know quite as much as I'd assumed. He's an expert, but only in a few situations.

First off, Oh Kaladin. I wish I knew what you did to harm Syl like this. I almost feel like you absorbed her in your fall instead of stormlight.

Just want to skip ahead and see if Kaladin really lets Elhokar die. Resisting the urge....
