The book is pretty interesting, simply because it’s about one of our few living presidents. Otherwise, the book is obviously mainstreamed to all people looking to hear his side of story.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Barack Obama's rise to political fame. He came from humble beginnings and proved many wrong by becoming a prominent African-American figure in politics. I would recommend this book to all because of the great stories Obama has to tell.

Though I don’t necessarily ageee with all of Obama’s politics, I still enjoy this book thoroughly. Obama talks about opportunity and how he strived to give an equal chance for wealth and prosperity to all.

So far Obama has explained many political issues, as this is before his first presidential term. I am enjoying this book because I have a strong interest in politics as well as a great deal of love for my country.

Thurgood Marshall is brought into the book to defend the black sailors. I can’t believe after all that happened during the trial all 50 sailors were still found guilty of mutiny.

We truly begin to dive in to the everyday day hardships a black sailor must face like where they eat and use the bathroom. This book continues to give me courage as to how all these black sailors were able to overcome these hardships they must endure.

We continue to read about the poor fashion African-American sailors were treated in. This book is helping me comprehend how horribly African-Americans who fought for our country were treated.

This heartfelt book takes place at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. We begin to read the dramtic story of Dorie Miller who we find out has become one of the first African-American heroes of WW2. It seems like this will be a great story of bravery and inspiration.

This is quite simply a beautifully written book that gives the perspective of Ethan, the dog we couldn’t even imagine. It really makes me look at my dogs differently in that I will take into account their frames of mind as well

Going on Ethan's journey over his many lives is a privilege to me. He continues to strive to find purpose throughout his lives.

I am enjoying the way the dog and Ethan interact. Seeing the point of view from the dog really intirgues me as to how they react to each other.

This book is really hitting home for me so far because of my love for my 2 dogs!

Affeldt's heartwarming story of overcoming adversity is truly inspirational. I will now look at him as someone I look up to in life.

Affeldt begins to break down his World Series experience, and the comradery he was able to build with his teammates when they became champions. After the World Series win, he then discusses all of the great organizations he partnered up with to create change for the better in the world. Glad he was able to turn his life around through baseball and create change.

Affeldt begins to talk about miracles that have happened in his life which have helped him proclaim his faith to God. On his way to Spring Training he'd gotten in a near-death car accident where his pregnant wife and kid were suppose to be with him, but thankfully weren't.

Affeldt has at last found the postseason during his career where he also feels comradery with his teammates. It's a miracle for him how God was able to lead him to success after years of failure.

Affeldt begins to discuss his recruitment process out of high school. Once he finally makes it to the big leagues, Affeldt talks about the numerous injuries he endured and how he continued to have faith in God.

Affeldt is depicting what his life was like when he was my age which is really neat. I feel I'm beginning to learn a lot of new life lessons from this book since we were in a similar situation during our teen years.
