Reading this novel with a fellow Stephen King junkie like me. So much to sort out in this novel. As usual, King is a mastermind at intertwining other novels and characters into the plot. How can you say, “Genius?” Will give full update when finished and analyzed. About two hundred pages left.

This novel is my first by this author and will be my last. All fluff and nonsense. Characters are shallow and never evolve past their narcissism.
It’s a modern day soap with no character development and a poorly written plot. Will finish it because, well, I am a reader and hate to DNF. Don’t waste your time. I would rather browse through an LL Bean catalog than waste my time on this dribble.

Wow! A disturbing story that is based on the real life of the Donner party but with such a dark and malicious story line. I highly recommend this book if you want to go into the dark side of humanity.

As I finally finished this dreadful novel I wondered how any of the words ended up as a bestseller. It was a labor to read; alas I finished it and hope that no one has to go through the trauma of reading this mess of a tale about nothing ever again. I will be burning this awful book!

I managed to finish this dreadful novel with distaste and bile in my mouth.
The plot...Oh wait there was no plot! It was a laborious read that I thought when I ended it I would at lease get some satisfaction but alas I was wrong. it ended in a dreadful cliff hanger. I sat there observing my kindle thinking about this dreadful novel and wondering how it ever was published. Hands down the worst novel I have ever read.

I am about halfway through this novel and am finding that the story line is long and drawn out. I have several friends who loved the novel but I have found this not to be the case for me. I will finish it and hope it gets better as I read more
