More like 3.5 stars. I never read it in school like so many of my friends did. I have had the book on my TBRL for a while. I wasn’t amazed by this book by any means. It was a good read, but not amazing!

DNF. Got halfway through and the spice ramped up. Too open door and detailed for me. Love the idea of this novel though. Bummed about the graphic detail of the spicy scenes. 😢

I’ve read many of Wendell Berry’s poems before, but I’ve never sat down and truly savored them at a slow pace, letting myself linger and think deeply about each one. Beautiful, honest, and raw. These poems are the kind you want to read slowly and return to often. The Peace of Wild Things is still my absolute favorite. So good!

DNF. 40% listen on Libby. The mild language, particularly Jesus’ name in vain, and even though the main central focus of this novel is the main characters self discovery there are other themes throughout this story that just aren’t for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed peeking into Emma’s life through reading her journal. It took me a bit to feel like this was going to be a book and a series that I would enjoy, but towards the end of the book I was hooked.
