Fun characters, but there’s some obnoxious twists

a very interesting situation. A lot of their life wasted with anger and miscommunication. I found it hard to believe a family could be so capable of being so cruel at such a terrible time. The ending was better.

I couldnt help comparing this book to Memoirs of a Geisha. there was a lot more emphasis on sex and way too much offensive language for my taste, but the characters and their stories were compelling. So many lousy relationships between children snd parents! A sad life in a harsh time and place.

I can't believe I didn't read this 10 years ago when I bought it! Its delightful!
