slowly i will finish this book. i think it's good but also sometimes the way tim alberta phrases things really makes me think he and i disagree on some very important topics (ie "he didn't follow politics....he was staunchly against abortion though......overall a standup guy" type shit...like i'm sure dude was perfectly nice and not necessarily an extremist, but still doesn't seem great)

This book is taking me so long to read. It's just so fucking corny I can't handle it

This is really good but also so heavy, i fear it will take me a while to get through

of the three books in this trilogy, I was hoping this one would be the strongest. however I am finding myself rather disappointed

you know what, i actually take back my earlier complaints. the female characters aren't written any more two dimensional than some of the male characters come off, and the plot is interesting enough that i am very engaged. and overall for all it's similarities to Red Rising...it's way better and better written.

I am so compelled by the worldbuilding and plot of this book, but it is so irksome that of the three female characters who appear in this series, two of them are portrayed as untrustworthy liars (emissa and the wife, forgive me i don't remember the name off the top of my head--if anything it goes to show how few women are actually in this series) and the third is basically a plot device. boooo white men fantasy

oh my god i do not want to set this down this is the best fantasy i've read in AGES
