For someone who doesn't read erotica or full-on romance, Kink is an interesting challenge I wanted to test myself with. Its nature as an anthology pulls me out of the book quite frequently, though – not every story is as captivating as the one before it.

I'll try to finish it, but I may well shelf it at some point... I'll try not!

Next up in my journey to finally read some of the literary masterpieces I missed in my lifetime, Gone Girl.

10% of the book in, I've seen the inciting incident and I'm definitely hooked. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the alternate chapter structure, but I'm hopeful it will all come together in the end. We'll see!

Since Lolita took an awful long time for me to complete, this was long overdue and I've finally managed to start it. Currently, I can't really understand if I love it or not. The titular short story is a must read, but I feel like some bits and ideas here and there lack a bit of finesse. We'll see. One thing is for sure: I definitely like it!

It took me a year to get this far with this book. I don't care. I'm finishing it this time.

Lolita is love or hate, and I absolutely love it.

Lolita is proving to be a difficult read so far. Love the language, love the style, and I know for sure I'm going to love the whole book at the end. But it definitely isn't a walk in the park. The protagonist's natural 'disposition' is as fascinating to read as it is disturbing, and but I'm starting to get over the initial shock to follow the flow of the book. I have great expectations for this.

It's been a while since I managed to read most of a novel in just four days. Mind, Abbie's book isn't void of little issues and doubtful choices here and there – which is something I will address in my review, as soon as I finish her book. But it's still a lovely page-turner, even for someone who doesn't enjoy YA and romance.

More on that soon! For now, I can say I'm definitely enjoying the journey.

My eyes run so fast on the lines, smooth as if they were skidding on oil. I was a bit perplexed by a few of Abbie's choices at the beginning, but the story soon kicked in and I can't seem to be able to stop. Her characters look so simple, human, and because of that they're so easy to empathise with. You just end up loving their voices. And the multi-POV isn't at all offsetting either.

Excited to read the rest!

Time to dive into Abbie's upcoming book! I'll be posting a few updates as I go along. The story sounds so interesting from her blurb already. I'll let you guys know!

I've been lucky enough to meet and see John Yorke in person during one of my classes, and I'm pretty confident to say his lecture was the missing piece I needed to unlock my novel. This book is starting off just as well, basically solidifying everything I've already learned from Yorke back then.

Let's see how it unfolds!

Going a bit slow because of assignments, but every time I open this book I feel a strange kind of wizardry pulling me in. It must be the cyberpunk taste, or maybe the fact that Case is such a fascinating character.

I'll finish it before Summer. It's a promise!

I've just started this book and, despite being written in a rather simple style, it's pure gold dust for writers and storytellers. After not even 15 pages.

Let's see how it unfolds!

After a slow start, Neuromancer is beginning to pick up the pace and becomes more and more fascinating with each page. I have high hopes for this cyberpunk milestone!

I can't believe I finished the memoir bit about 70 pages ago. Where did all those pages go?

How come Stephen King can always make me read dozens of chapters that seamlessly?

I scream, for I do not know.

But so far, this book is a Bible for both aspiring writers and those who already know the craft, and it's comforting to see some of my views and opinions on writing mirrored or improved by Stephen's words.

I couldn’t resist sharing an update after the incredible Chapter XVI and XVII. The Controller’s monologues are among the best I read in recent years, filled with cynicism and excruciating resignation.

I have so much to say about this book – and not all of it is positive, but most will be. I’ll wait until the very end to express my full opinion.

I just finished Chapter I, and it is already one of the most inspiring and disturbing reads I’ve ever had. The Hatching and Conditioning Centre is a scary institution made stronger by habits and normality, and I have extremely good feelings about the rest.
