I don't know fantasy novels could be so depressing...it's good writing though. Just too close to home.

Despite many often complain about some fantasy authors building their worlds with too many exotic original terms, I often find those who took the pain to establish a deck of new terms are also the ones who treat their characters attentively. And it's usually totally worth it to struggle through the barely pronounceable terms just for a glimpse of the wonderful world. This book is no exception.

I didn't sign up for SAW in a medieval context!!! Waited for 47% until the first kiss. =___=

I find the narrative a bit stuck with deliberate observation, which might work but is a risky way to start a relationship.

Liking it so far! Remnant plots seem a bit abrupt but the rest feels great.

I do think the paranormal world-building here is really poor, but I'm such a sucker when it comes to feline shapeshifter...and a whole family of various feline!!!

Character building is ok, but not particularly impressive.

I guessed Clara's secret when about 20%!!!!! So proud of myself. It's a good plot I think.

I don't usually enjoy reading a story about a couple that is already in a steady relationship, but I have a particular affection for this one, so I made an exception. It turned out the elements I tend to avoid from existing relationships were rarely there in the book, so for now I'm good.
