Rana is brilliant and her book is very personably autobiographical, culturally relevant, interesting, with much overview on broad historical international events as they were lived through and at the time that they were current and in play. I feel like I was there too.

I made it to page 70 and that’s all I am reading. It seems made up. I really don’t know, to be honest. On this topic, I am out of my depth anyway. And the stories seem rather inconclusive. If it were fiction, I feel sure I would feel the same way... and this is supposed to be journalism... so. You got me!

Very long book before me but I have a feeling it will go fast since it is readable and from the preface, the very beginning, the author lays out exactly how he is going to cover the material and what he is getting at. Good signs for pleasant reading.

Really in depth yet clear easy readable prose. Lots of footnotes if you want to read them and they are in the back of the book not interrupting the flow of reading. Lots and lots of things I didn’t know such as a particular kind of therapy (CBT-I) for insomnia.

I actually had a hard time reading this. Not terribly interesting writing or thinking. I realize that millions of people found this book to be wonderful but I was not one of their number. Granted I didn't get very far into the book.

I read this about a year ago when I was working in a temp position that involved a lot of not much to do. It was answering the phone for a small growing engineering firm. I read this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's very good for people who don't know lots of science and want to understand the basics without it being dull or boring to learn. Very good not-dry writing for the topic. Awesome read.
