Adam is a prick and Mia is a child. And I just realized there are more books. Calling it on this one.

Gaming dice just got exposition-splained to the "geek girl" internet blogger. Okay then.

I got on a "pedantic tea-ologist" rant about a term in the first chapter, but otherwise still rolling along.

Ohh. OHHHH. Now I'm sad. :-(

Okay, this is like try 3 of reading this and I'm finally making progress. Its so good, I've just never had the headspace to get really absorbed.

I have started and stopped at least 10 books in the last month and a half. Go figure that a freakin' Nora Roberts book would break the streak. But it was really good (more like her old style), so...

The only complaint I have is all of the "milking" going on. That's not the sexist term. But Charley is her usual, wonderfully spastic self.

Goal this summer: Actually finish American Gods. Full Stop.

Okay, so the first chapter of this book is fantastic, and then it got reaallly slooowww for a while. Finally picking back up to "fun Steampunk romp" speed, which is what I'm looking for. ;-)

Wow. The first few chapters of this book are already heartbreaking.

This came up in my library e-book waiting list and the loan is due to expire soon, so I thought I'd give it a few chapters and see if I wanted to slam though it. Got totally hooked on the Poe-inspired material and light Steampunkery themes, even though I'm not a big YA fan. Stay tuned...

Norraaaaaaa. I usually dig your magic-themed books but what is with the dragged out intro? And the, so far, unlikable characters? Gosh I hope this gets better.

So I wasn't exactly in the market for a new book but a pal mentioned this on Facebook and it was on sale, so I grabbed it. In a fit of headache and insomnia, I decided to go for the first few pages.

...this book is really good. I haven't gotten deep into the plot yet; a lot of the beginning is backstory but it's lush and interesting. Love it so far!

I was enjoying this and then John Green sucker punches me in the feels. no me gusta.

Met the author at a con this weekend, she's really nice! She signed my promo copy (different cover, really pretty). I didn't realize I already had it on my to-read list. I'm enjoying it so far, got adjusted to the present tense pretty quickly. A dark and cold read for the fall. :-)
