interesting to think about the relationship between this definition of systems and McLuhan’s definition of media — especially because a system can remain intact with the elements replaced, feels similar to “the media is the message” i.e. the systems that are created as the result of the introduction of a new media is more important than the content of the media itself

chapters 4 and 5 went insanely hard
