Mildred has been having visions and the people that she is close to at the base are worried. She experiences blackouts during the day and she at times will look pale than she usually does. And soon she will speak to the farmer.

As the days were going by she noticed that she was given a nickname and she also noticed how she was being treated but that didn't really bother her at all, in fact, she wanted to eavesdrop in the conversation of men. And as of now, there were only two men that she has a normal conversation.

As Milley had woken up from a dream she discovered she was in the middle of a lake and she noticed she was clearly drowning. And by the time she had to beth on what had happened beth got angry and told her they need to find a solution to it. But, Mildred told beth that this is a gift.

As she was dreaming in her sleep it seems that she has turned her dream into a reality that with every step she took she notices something interesting that had caught her eye but then she saw something.

She had a nightmare and in reality. it became a seizure. Though there were many women in the room who thought she was possessed due to how much shrieking she made and weird movements. And as that was happening beth was trying her best to calm her down. Then, as many of the other women being noisy and looking at what was happening beth were there, telling them to leave and be quiet.

As Mildred got to her station she was fascinated by what she saw. After she got out of the bus it was terribly windy and the next thing that happened was they got a greeting from one of the people in charge Mildred was just fascinated and happy because she can finally leave from being a little girl.

As Mildred got to the base she was excited in fact everyone else was quite bored. Later, on it was night time she ended up sleeping walking to the middle of the desert, and her friend beth saved her from anything happening and afterward was scolded for not being more careful enough.

As she was calling her mother on the phone both she was interrupted by, one of the men named Gordon. He was talking to Mildred, but beth came along to stop him from bothering Mildred. And Mildred was happy to be saved by her. After that conversation, they went into the bus and headed straight to their destination.

As she meets the other girls and talks amongst each other. Mildred had made a friend the moment she got there. Then, the next morning she made a phone call to her mother to remind her of her daily exercise.

She is remembering about how her grandmother was alive, she is remembering when kids use to make fun of her and also push her away from telling them of their future.

As soon as she helps her mother in the house and severs her food and water, then her sister calls and then tells her that she can't do that to her mom. But, then she hangs up the call and tells her mother that "she will go to the movies for a very long time". And with that she leaves.

As she approaches the drugstore on the way home she had bought a soda pop and a tube of red lipstick, Mrs.Brown (the store worker) had criticized her for buying a whore's lipstick. After that, she had gone home and her mother was waiting for her outside with a blanket over her in 90-degree weather to tell her that Mrs. Brown had called to say that "She had bought a whore's lipstick".

Now that Chayio-chan has become a maid she is feeling regretful for escaping and now wants to start over. And with Mameha's help she did but now she has to become the best Geisha then Hatsumomo and Pumpkin and when that happens she will soon pay all her debts she owes. But, until now there are many obstacles that are preventing her from completing that in which she must fight her way to the top to become #1.

From this point in the book, Chaiyo-chan is blaming herself and that's not good. She is blaming herself for the decision she made. She thought that this will be good for everyone but now she starts to regret her decision and her older sister has been through so much because of this decision. The life of the two sisters is now in misery because of a small mistake. And i believe that they will go through much more.

As she and her sister went to Kyoto they both went their separate ways and both of them were very confused. She was at the Okiya where geisha work she was very surprised by what was happening but once she saw "Auntie" she was astonished and forgot about all her worries. She also meets with "Granny" which wasn't even a nice person, to begin with.

Chiayo-Chan and her sister are now with Mr.Takana and his town to see where he lives. when they got their she and her sister meet with a fortune-teller that made them feel uncomfortable for what she did to them and they both ended up crying. Chiayo-chan said sorry for what happened and explained to her sister what is happening. Then they proceeded to Mr.Takana's house and meet with the other's and stayed the night.

This book is about many different people places and incidents happening and they are all fictional work that this may look like some people places or events though that is just a coincidence and that first story is 'The World by Night'. And it starts off by a girl named Sadie who just lost both her parents and she buried them. And later when she is 20 she is married to Zachary.

And at the end of the last tale told about the cow head when the villagers ate the half human with the cow head they themselves where punished for the terrible crime of eating what they wanted and in which the demons themselves took the pleasure of eating them. The last two stories about a snow women and the last about The cow head in which tells horrible stories about the death of people who have done wrong in which was not kept a secret for the snow women and for the cow head well not just yet...

A story in which people talk about scary stories but these stories only talk about chefs. And they're not normal chef stories and each one is unique but the only way for them to do so is to go into a specific room to tell these stories. And anyway three people have already told stories and one of them wasn't even considered scary but a story.

She had made friends during the summer of her high school year when she went to a program in Brooklyn she had meet many people and especially Jose who was a very close friend until the end of summer but after that, she came back to reality and stopped remembering about the past.
