Both Jonas and Asher attended the group in the audittorium where the elder leader was going to announce the three members who are given an assignment. After calling for the 3 members, she went to call out Asher in which there's a long conversation of getting a new assignment.

The Walls have moved to Blythe, California for another living adventure. Jeanette was looking forward to finally attend school in the 1st grade where she really needs to learn something good. She's always working hard all day and being reliable to the teacher until she gets bullied by 4 mexican girls of calling her a "teacher's pet". That's until her brother Brian went to go save her.

Jonas meets a guy named Asher where they can do their mandatory volunteer hours together. Children from eight to eleven volunteer at different locations daily to develop skills and get a sense of their occupational interests. Jonas enjoys volunteer hours because they are less regulated than other hours of his day, meaning he wants his day to go fast of finding a hobby that can distract him from checking the time.

Jonas’s father brings the struggling newchild Gabriel home to spend nights with Jonas’s family. Lily remarks that Gabriel has “funny eyes” like Jonas—both boys have light eyes, while most people in the community have darker eyes. 

Jonas went to have a private conversation with his father of learning that all the Ceremonies take place over two days in December; that is, The Ceremony for the Ones and The Ceremony of Twelve, etc. Every year, something happens for a kid. Since Jonas' Father was always so good with kids, he knew he'd be a Nurturer.

Josh and his father were having a talk with his sister, Lily, who isn't looking alright where she was thinking about the old man she met before on the streets and that not doing anything to protect him makes her feel frightened.

After a long, weird, and struggling adventure Jeannette had with her family by going from city to city and spending the whole night with her dad at a bar, she still never lost hope on living her life as a child from her parents giving brute force to her and her siblings. While moving back at the desert cause her father is despising those city assimulations, he plans to build a house made out of glass.

The story introduces to a young guy named Jonas, who struggles to find the right words on how he feels, especially the word frightened where there were a group of aircrafts flying past the community that he frightened him.

At the beginning of the memoir, the author was living at a low-class apartment with her mother. At night, she see's her mother rooting through the dumpster to find food or stuff, knowing that her mother isn't acting like her usual-self. Whenever she's with her on the streets, her mother shouts towards the citizens that she with her daughter, that really embarass the author. She tried countless times to help her mom

Clara was at Josh's home where she's making breakfast during dinner. Then Josh arrived home, unexpected to see Clara there and the two of them made up where they both forgot the whole celebrity porn story. Clara asked Josh a favor of borrowing his car but he dennies it. Until Clara tells him an incident that happened back home. She had to attend a cotillion with Everette where she drove her way there until she crash.

Because of the way Josh rappes Clara last night, he was feeling guilty about treating his roomate that way and goes to the bakery where his friend, Frankie, served him chocolate crossaints as a apology gift for Clara. Meanwhile, Clara went to go see her aunt that of telling her she wants to move back to New York. But Jill had a bright idea for Clara to stay in LA where she can be Jill's assistant at her job.

Josh came home early from work and can't believe what he's seeing from Clara, watching his pornographic videos. No trouble has happened to Clara but had a conversation with Josh about his history of being a porn star. Unfortunately, Josh was starting to get annoyed from these questions Clara asked and made her join in. Now it became a mistake Clara has made.

When Clara was at home by herself, she decided to search Josh's name on google when he's not around. The search results that Clara cannot believe what she's seeing is that Josh was a star at some kind of censored and inappropriate website full of videos. She went to discover Josh's channel from all the videos he made while being with another woman.

Josh's ex-girlfriend and business assistant, Naomi, came to visit at his house where she's noticed a new girl living with him and was concerned of how her personality is. Josh was frustrated to Naomi of bringing the fact that an east coast came here to the big city just to show off her thing in life, but Clara is just the kind person who's her pathway. After Josh's ex left, he visits his agent Bennie at a dinner.

Josh wanted Clara to go talk to her Aunt by colling her, but Jill hadn't responded. She goes to the same restuarant in Malibu where Aunt works until she finally gets to see her. Jill explains to Clara that her family is already over the mistakes Jill made where Clara's mother keeps sending pictures of Clara for months, especially the photo of her graduation.

The next day, Clara tells the truth to Josh that driving a car was her biggest fear and as for Josh, he's afraid of ketchup. After shopping to the grocery store to buy more groceries, Clara tells Josh that her Aunt Jill once lived in LA but has done some stupid stuff that the Wheatons disowned her.

Clara was having a chat with Josh on how things between her and Everett almost came to a true meaningful love after he moced away from his tour. Josh then explains to Clara of how in life, you try to make the best out of a bad situation of where it's part of moving on in life, and where Clara is going to follow her dream of being an artist.

A young woman named Clara Wheaton has moved into LA from her close attracted friend named Everett, who is probably a guitar player to a band he's in. Everett couldn't stay with Clara at Josh's house where his band is going on a tour which could take about 3 months. Clara entering Josh's house might not look organized but she's going still gonna try to have the best time of her life in LA where's its like summer.

The 3 Mrs. W's came to see Meg, her father, and Calvin for help to rescue Charles who was taken from IT into the camazotz. Mrs. Whatsits tells Meg that only her has to go into the darkness to get to her brother but Calvin didn't want to let her go. She bursts a few tears to say her final goodbyes in case she doesn't make it, especially where Calvin came by and kissed her.

Aunt Beast tells Meg that she finds her language difficult since Aunt Beast's kind was from a planet named Ixchel, which is another planet struggling against the Dark Thing. After having a conversation, Meg was sent back with Calvin and his father who are having a meal from the beasts. Meg asked her father inpatiently of bring the three Mrs. W's here, but it would be hard for them to communicate with the beasts.

Calvin tells the Murrys that he's from another planet in which he was engaged to fighting the Dark Thing. There were these beasts that tell the group that they would need to take Meg for her care because she seems vulnerable and weak. Meg was having a nice contact with the beasts who she gave an appropriate name to all of them, until she helped a one that couldn't see light or dark named Aunt Beast.

Meg's having a hard time trying to get to her father and gets help from Charles, but he unexpectactly punches her in the stomach in which Calvin realizes that Charles still not himself. Meg remembers the spectacles that Mrs. Who gave to her and puts them on, where she's able to get to her father where she's finally reunited with him.

Charles gets possed by a spirit named IT who tells Meg and Calvin that the man with red eyes is their friend and that the 3 Mrs. W's are the real enemies. IT is revealed to actually be the prime coordinator where he would make Charles lead to Mr. Murray. He goes back to normal and takes Meg and Calvin to a white corridor, but Charles decided that they should turn themselves in to IT.

The three kids have entered the Central Intelligence Building where they asked a suited man of how everything works there, but since the man doesn't see the papers the kids have, he had to report them to the authorities for him to avoid the risk of "reprocessing". Meg, Chalres, and Clavin were sent to a man with a red eyes where they notice there's a cold blackness emerging to him, similar to the Dark Thing.
