I'm really liking it. I'm also learning a lot of things and it's enlightening to see a perspective on race from a black African woman's point of view.

I'm not sure about this one. It's different and it has an interesting plot, but it seems to be going a bit too slow for me. I assume there is a reason for it, but we will see.

I listen to it during my runs... the book is read by Hillary Clinton herself, so cool. I'm enjoying it a lot :)

everything is just sad in this book, the writing the characters... sad, sad sad... and it's not because it's a very tragic book or because a lot of tragic events are happening (yes, there is a tragic event at the beginning), but it's the tone in the writing, the characters and the life they led before the this event ... but the book keeps making me want to keep reading it :)

interesting book so far. keeps me entertained and on the edge, trying to figure out what happened and why. Some parts are annoying and I feel like they don't make sense, even though I believe it's done like that in order to not reveal some things to early..

Almost half way through the book... I am not getting into it. While I feel like the book is well written, i don't find myself caring for any of the character or the story... or I guess the lack of the story?...
I keep waiting for something more interesting to happen... and it doesn't for me...

It is captivating so far. I am listening to the book and it is narrated by the author herself and the book is about her life. Pretty cool. The author is talking about her childhood and relating the story as she saw it as a child. it's interesting, although a bit too detailed sometimes and it's going a bit slow

I feel like the book is a bit slow at times... and I keep waiting for something crazy to happen. One crazy thing did happen, but it was so clear that it would, that I wasn't really affected by it, because I knew what will happen.... It does make me want to keep going and keep reading it.

i like almost everything this book is trying to relate, however i find the book a bit slow.. I keep moving on to other books and coming back to this on and moving on to other books. Maybe I just need to slow down, find some peace inside and finish the book

So I'm almost done with the book, but I'm not user how I feel about it. It's a series of short stories and they are written in different styles and from different voices (1st person, 2nd person, 3rd person, woman, man...etc). It is my first book by Junot Diaz and I am not impressed. I think i just don't get his style and it's not appealing to me.

such an interesting subject to me. I read earlier the memoir from the mom of one of the Columbine shooters so I can actually compare a little bit, as the stories have a lot in common. I am really enjoying the writing style, the characters and the story itself so far.

the beginning of the book threw me off. i had to double check why I decided to read that book. the language was not pleasant at all and the writing and the story was just so plain and uninteresting, but I gave it a chance and the rest of the stories(chapters) take on a different, more mature way of storytelling which is now intriguing
