This is a story depicting Peter Jenkins walk from Alfred New York to New Orleans Louisiana. He's accompanied by his dog cooper and they are best friends. At this point Peter is in the deep south and has encountered a farmer that is employing him temporarily so that he can save some more money for his walk. "All I wanted was to get far away from the farms grasp, but I had one last job to to before i could leave."

Three boys are investigating the remains of a post war zone town. "When they bombed the village it felt like they really hurt somebody." - page 6

In the first chapter of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, the author J.R.R. Tolkien describes in excruciating detail the beginning of a long journey that is traveled by the hobbit Frodo Baggins. The amount of care and attention that Tolkien puts into his writing is astounding, he even created his own language to help tell this beautiful tale. 5/5 Would recommend this book to readers who love fantasy.
