Why do I listen to TikTok? Immature and ridiculous are the most prominent adjectives to describe this book so far. I’m predicting another DNF.

It’s 12:30 am and I need to go to bed but I’ve been sucked in by this story and these characters. Been a long time since I’ve honestly felt that I couldn’t put a book down.

The commentary about the double standard and ridiculous expectations when it comes to the public perception of women in sports is fricken brilliant!

This might be the best prologue I’ve ever read! If the rest of the book is even half as good it’s getting 5 stars from me!

OMG I’m hating this! I know it’s YA but it’s so immature yet trying (and failing) to be more sophisticated. It must get better because the ratings are so high. I want to DNF it but will give it until the 50% point in hopes it gets better.

I get the hype. I’m loving this!

The last 10% of this book makes me want to throw my phone at a wall. WHY do authors write female lead characters who are waif-like, insecure wallflowers without an ounce of self-confidence? Yet they expect us to believe they’re also a 3rd year PhD candidate in an extremely demanding scientific research position who got a full ride for their undergrad and master’s degrees? It should be a crime. Ugh!!!!

Re-read. I loved this book and the next two the first time I read them but didn’t read the final 2 books in the series. I’m planning to binge read all 5 this week.

There’s a limit to the amount of angst I can stand and I’m getting close to it. Please tell me this isn’t going to continue for the whole book!

This is a terrible book. It’s seriously awful but I read a couple of pages of it when I go to bed and it puts me right to sleep!

Parts of this are pretty funny but I also I find myself cringing a bit as I progress through this book.

Crazy to see that despite being at 80% there’s still 8 hours left in this audiobook!

I’m listening to the audiobook this time around and I’m enjoying it so much! Sanderson’s world building and magic systems are truly incredible.

Time for a re-read of this series.

I’m a bit worried. So far I love all the characters EXCEPT the main character who, so far, seems to be the saffic version of the all too typical poor, misunderstood, lonely waif of every romance book I hate. Shit…
