DNF. Not for me. I waited months for this audiobook but I just dreaded listening to it. This one is read by the author and he seemed stilted, serious and sad. I would have loved to have Sean Patrick Hopkins who read “I See You’ve Called in Dead” read this one. Possibly reading on paper would have also been better.

After picking this book up at a free little library, I liked it more than I expected. It has the feel of Alexander Mc Call Smith’s #1 Ladies Detective Agency and of The Cuckoo’s Calling by “Robert Galbraith”, but is set in modern day India. Somehow it also felt like it was written for Indian ex-pats instead of people who are currently living there or people who never have.

After seeing Come From Away in NY, and preparing to see it in Detroit, I was hoping for more in depth stories about the people featured in the musical. Although there are some over lapping stories, there were a lot of different people in the book. The book also probably told a more authentic (read: not as nice) story about difficulties passengers faced. I liked hearing about more people but missed my old friends

This was a good book about the civil war, but it read like a YA book (is it?). I enjoyed the story but it would have been completely appropriate to read it out loud to a 9 year old, which is the age of the main character.
