This story mostly stayed on topic, with minimal tangents. We read all about Lancelot and his struggles.
Surprisingly, this book does not end with his death.

Book 3, the Ill-Made Knight

Is the whole point of this huge book to write about falconry? He’s extremely light on plot and character development, but heavily describing everything possible about hawking.

Finished book 2, The Witch in the Woods

The witch being Morgause, although most of the story is about King Pellinore.

Finished book 1, sword in the stone

Oddly written, kept making references to modern things but was set in the 1200s.

On reading the comment regarding the goshawk vs. sparrowhawk in the birding book, I immediately pulled out mine own. Imagine my confusion when I could not find any mention of the sparrowhawk at all!
And this is how I came to realize that this was set in the UK, and not North America as I first assumed.

I’ve suddenly realized why I remembered nothing about trading this book the first time. Almost nothing has happened, and I’m not terribly interested in any of the characters. It’s easy to read, just boring.
And there are still almost 200 pages to go.

This book sounds fun:
“I’m going to write a book all about myself, and in it I will discuss the books I’m reading and my thoughts on life.”
Cool let’s do it.

Imagine my surprise that in book 13 of this series, the narrator changes. Evidently there was a scheduling conflict with the original narrator, who resumes with book 14.

Honestly, I’d rather just skip this one. The new narrator does not have the deep, growly voice of James Marsters, and as a result Dresden sounds like… Butters. Unappealing.

Really enjoying so far. Reminds me of a video game, the person is playing different characters to solve a mystery

I confess, I chose this book based solely on its title.

I just got to the part where Sadie’s second in-class game is described. I’m chuckling. I love it.

I specifically picked up this book because the audiobook is narrated by James Marsden (Buffy’s Spike, for those of us who grew up in the 90s). Imagine my shock to discover that “Spike” is American and not British!
Regardless, I am enjoying the performance almost as much as the story itself.

It’s funny, this was written in 1940, and yet all of a sudden I’m ready contemporary fiction that is more relatable.

This is the most intricate, complicated thing I’ve ever read.

What’s up with all the epigrams, mostly untranslated? So far none of them seem to apply to the story… for those that are in English.
