Liking this one so far. Good writing and narrator. Great debut! Reminds me of Moriarty.

Amazing. Chock full of images I just have to stop and savor--so it's a slow read. Long and unfamiliar Russian names and locations are also tough to wade through, but this author is brilliant, just brilliant.

Oh. My. God. This book is knocking my socks off. Pretty amazing for someone who in the past has thumbed her nose at spirituality. Might be the best book of the year for me.

Am TOTALLY loving this one. This is the 6th (!) fantastic novel I've read in the last few months, how lucky can I be?! This one is dark and lyrical with great characters and a bizarre storyline. Thanks, DJ, for this great read!

OMG, this is fantastic! Possibly one of the most imaginative books I've ever read. Very dark, very atmospheric. Storytelling at its best! Slow going since it's so dense, but I'm loving everything about it. Stay tuned!

Holy moly this is FANTASTIC!!

Started out loving this one but ran into some sloppy writing (repeated paragraphs!). But worse, it's anti-cat and anti-fat. Gets my dander up!

Loving it; great character study. I do get bogged down sometimes because every little emotion of the main character is described, second by second. But still, an amazing book.

Red flag! Based on the first story, I'm wondering if the author is a misogynist, just despises large women, or just felt like creating a despicable male character. You can rest assured no woman would ever have written this story!

Liking this one. Imagine you are perfectly normal and suddenly you're psychotic. That's what this riveting memoir is about. She has a rare disorder, emphasis on rare, in case
your disorder is fear of getting every disorder you read about. I confess to sort of having that disorder...

Loving this one. Reminds me of The Other Typist, which, with its ambiguous ending, lost my vote. Hoping this one has a good ending. We'll see.

Loving this one

Okay, I found about 10 editing mistakes (some big ones) in the first 5% (reading on Kindle so don't get page numbers). I'm at 30% now, and still seeing a few errors. Wondering if this edition is a pre-edited version. Or maybe the publisher doesn't bother with editors anymore? The stories are good, but the editing issues are a big distraction. If I find lots more mistakes, might have to abandon.
