Soooo dense! Too many characters’ perspectives and multiple timelines 😫

Half way through the book and they're just now getting to the mystery...🤦

I haven't read a book in a long time where I didn't like the main character. Francis though... she upsets me. She has very little self control and makes horrible decisions. I was hoping for more of a thriller mystery. The NYT called it "tense and thrilling", but honestly it's just uncomfortable.
