Meandering and really hard to follow

Remarkably complicated - this is not the kind of book you read to relax. There are two present time stories going on and a lot of backstory suddenly being added in. Pay attention to everything.

Ermm… major error about a college at Oxford which no one picked up right in that first chapter. Why do authors do this? Even a cursory amount of research about All Souls would tell you that it is not an undergraduate college (it’s actually quite famous for being postgrads only). Could the author not have scrolled past the first college on the alphabetic list?

Initial thoughts: Naomi klein is annoyed because people keep confusing her with Naomi Wolf, especially online. She really, really doesn’t like her either. She’s spent an awful lot of time repeating herself about conspiracy theories and generally having a mega bitch about N Wolf. I’m not familiar particularly with either Naomi but honestly, this is not a great start!!

At around page 175: a thought has occurred to me, HC may be truly depressed. He sees the world and the people in it as they are, especially as phonies. It’s usually only actually depressed people who see through the masks we all wear so clearly.

Awful. Giving up as I just don't want to read while this is on my ereader...
