Rediscovered and repurchased this book recently — I'd found a copy years ago and not, did it open my eyes to the power and potential misuse of statistics. Though written in the 50's, it's lessons hold true today and I would even call this required reading for anyone who wants to avoid being hoodwinked by slanted presentations of data.

One of the funniest things I've read in.... Ever! I'm laughing constantly at the laugh-out-loud skewering of Hollywood types. A brisk plot, engaging characters, and situations that triple their innate humor thanks to the inventively hilarious way they are expressed. Highly recommended.

A fascinating and reassuring read, this bible of the investing world makes a persuasive case that any system for "beating the market" is doomed to fail and offers a sensible alternative approach.

Charming historical romance and comedy of manners. So far, I'm finding it very appealing, with a strong-willed young schoolteacher at the centre of a vividly-drawn group of characters, and am as intrigued as the heroine at the sometimes-unexpected behaviour of those she is meeting.
