This account also does not flinch from exposing the arrogance and brutality was repeatedly practiced by them.

Good storytelling in the parts about the lives of the nobles and abbots associated with Cluny. The architectural description was detailed but could have used more illustrations. Overall a good story and intro to the Cluniac order's history.
