Somehow, it feels like Pino loses 3 braincells every time he is in Milan.

Chapter 12 is the most enjoyable one so far.

The exchanges between Father Re, Pino, and Colonel Rauff are great.

God help me, this is one of the worst books I've ever read.
The writing is painfully plastic and the scenes are emptier than my birthday parties.

The plot has begun to intrigue me. However, it did take almost 100 pages to (slightly) hook me.
My main issue is the way the author writes, both prose and dialogue.
It's so...simple. Not that that in itself is bad (Bel-Ami is a simple book, and it's fantastic). This one feels...fake. Plastic.
Hope it gets better. But, so far, I feel like I'm reading a teen/young-adult wannabe WWII novel instead of a real novel.

Long story short: I'm still very bored reading this

Currently reading ch. 4–6 and it’s 30% biography, 70% adding obscure Victorian books to my TBR.
Every Wilde mention derails me into imagining Good Omens Aziraphale in a waistcoat flirting through iambic pentameter.
Sherlock's superiority complex? Tiresome, but on point.
His hemoglobin glee? Actually fucking adorable.
Overall: entertaining, infuriating, and accidentally Good Omens-coded.

Chapter 2: God, I don't want to be pessimistic, but I honestly dislike the art style and...the story is not hooking me. I find myself bored reading the whole thing.
Alas, only episode 2. There's hope.

Episode 1: I confess...I am a tiny bit bored. I may or may not have disconnected after the banner because the plot isn't grabbing me. I know I am barely in the beginning, and I'm judging too fast, but, alas, it is what it is.
