Guy Montag was trying to convince his wife to let him keep the books that he wasn't supposed to have. His wife says he's only going to let him keep them for a little bit otherwise she is going to leave and tell on him.

This dystopian society where books are banned and “firemen” burn any that are discovered. Guy Montag, a fireman who begins to question his duty to the state and ultimately has to choose between his personal beliefs and his loyalty to the government.
