Ok, thoughts so far. I don't like the narrator for the book very much and every turn in this plot so far has been a left. I have no idea what's going on and why it's happening but it is enjoyable so there's that.

Having just finished the first chapter, I'm, so far, finding the main character amusing. Not in a good way.

Yes, I have listened to a reading of this before. Yes, I am listening to this again. Why am I doing this? No actual idea. I'm going to have to make a new bookshelf for this thing.

The urge to skip ahead just to make sure they stop acting like contortionists and get their heads out from where the sun don't shine is almost as unbearable as the emotional torture I'm going through now.

I can't tell if the author is really good at foreshadowing or really bad at foreshadowing. By the way, I'm pretty sure I've known where the map is since 15%.

I'm 10% in and so far really liking it. I love the narration and I LOVE the protagonist, Alosa. I only have one tiny problem with her. She has what I call "suicidal feminism". She can totally do this on her own and she don't need no man to help her. Like, girl, it's completely fine to ask for a little backup. Completely fine.
