The narrator David Morse provides a sadly disappointing experience for me as he has a robustly sincere and leveled voice that has so much potential but is still not enough for me to hold my interest or help me retain any information introduced in the story.

Listening on audiobook. The combination of the “slow burn” pace, prose and structure is decaying my motivation to read on and making it impossible for me to hold a vision or even a name of any of the characters involved.

Only about 10% in, and so far it’s a really good read. It approaches things through a different lens, but once you allow yourself into that new perspective—very different in feel from Kristin Hannah or Diane Chamberlain—it opens your heart to an entirely new world of insight. There are moments that are vulgar yet profound, then quickly turn poignant.

It started off very slow and I felt that I was missing an important piece to the story while I was listening to it on audiobook. I am about 25% in and the characters are starting to develop much more than in the beginning...especially around Martha. It hasn't been a very interesting read but the voice used with it makes it VERY entertaining. Even so, I think this one may be better read than listened to.
