Why doesn't the main character like the Homecoming events at her school? Usually people are excited for the fun events the come with Homecoming prep.

I feel the main character is feels left out at her new school because she doesn't know anybody and she has to earn everyones trust.

In the beginning of the chapter the character goes through something a lot of people around the world go through. On page 33 she said " My first morning of school, I was scared. I had no idea what would result ... For a few weeks I was overwhelmed.". A lot of people at any age are nervous about their first day of school. Some of that due to what people think about them.

When the Spook said the witch would eat worms and other slimy creatures to gain her strength, I pictured an old, evil lady stuffing ger face with bloody worms.

I wonder if the Spook is dead afterall. The Spook still hasn't returned home and Tom is in need of the Spooks help.

I think Tom feels guilty that he started listening to the girl with pointy shoes. He also feels like he did the right thing by helping someone but the Spook told Tom not to go near certain people.

I think Tom will keep going on with his job instead of staying home. His mom made a good point that someone has to do the job and there's nobody left to do it, so he should be the one.

I found it interesting how Tom decided not to tell the Spook how he ran into a girl with pointy shoes. The Spook say trust is a big thing in this job.

I think that Tom is going to start liking a girl with pointy shoes because the Spook told Tom to never trust a woman. The Spook said that Tom might fall victim to some of the tricks woman play and to be careful.

I think it was good for the Spook to show Tom the dead witches in the garden because it shows Tom some of the frightful things he's going to encounter. My question is why did the Spook bury the witches upside down with their feet sticking out of the ground?

When Tom woke up the next morning he thought he heard the breakfast bell so he went downstairs. When he went downstairs he realized that he was too early and he punished by being hit upside the head with a pan.

Tom and the Spook are in a town where the Spoo lives and Tom is getting to spend the night in the Spook's house. The Spook is also telling Tom the rules if his house.

The Spook explains to Tom why he chose him specifically as an apprentice. After that the Spook tell Tom some of his early life .

Tom has passed all of the Spook's test in the haunted house. When Tom went into the basement he met the Spook down there and they talked about how the house became haunted. My question is how did the Spook get into the basement if he was never in the house?

In these pages Tom is spending the night in a haunted by himself and has passed his first test with two more to come.
