Whale hunting has commenced

The cover caught my eye at a used bookstore.

I made it through the chapter that catalogs all of the different types of whales!!

Just finished the chapter that recounts all of the different symbols of whiteness.

This book is a slog, but I’m determined to finish it

This book could never have been written by an American author because I don’t think we’ve ever had trains that run on time…

just when I thought things were going a bit too well for the characters…

I needed a book for the beach that wasn’t about community building or city planning - this was perfect and is really fun so far

So many lore reveals!!

Love that Murderbot dropped a “Let’s fucking go” lol

This is the new translation that came out in 2020 with semi-modern vernacular/slang interspersed throughout the text. I’m listening to the audiobook and it’s quite good so far.

Stanley Tucci is the narrator for this

Sworn Sword: I had only read the Hedge Knight previously (and that was the graphic novel) so this was new to me. This was a good novella with lots of solid world building lore and some good characters - I REALLY wish George would write more of these because they’re such fun reads…

I’ve been waiting for this audiobook loan from the library since January - just finished The Hedge Knight!
