Just getting started on this short work. Author keeps talking a lot about the "Western way of war". Can't tell if he's using it as a pejorative or not...

Almost there, but feel like this has been a waste of time. Decent premise, poorly executed.

Continuing to plod through this. It's in the nature of challenge now. "I'll read it in spite of itself." The author writes in two time periods, 2012 and 1912. Thus far the flashback chapters set in 1912 are the most readable and entertaining.

The book has gotten better, but there are some MAJOR editing errors you have to bumble through. In one instance the main character is addressing another character who isn't even in the scene for example. Harland & Wolff is occasionally referred to as Holland and Wolff. No excuse for that kind of thing.

I hope it gets better. So far I've learned that one character has an iPhone and the other prefers a Droid. Why do I want to know this?
