So I’m listening to this again. Why? Because I just love the cadence of Ms. Harris’ writing style. It’s perfect. Especially the audio.

It’s a novella so I thought I would try it 🤷‍♀️

Trying really hard to get through this book. I love superheroes so I really thought I would like this but so far, it’s miserable.

I really wish the cinnamon roll was more en vogue.

As someone who loves Fleetwood Mac and listens to them everyday, I really did think a novel that’s so obviously inspired by them would be more…interesting?

I read more books than I put on here. Some of those books are non-fiction. I debated whether to put this on here, but figured it would not only be helpful for finding similar books, but also any review might be helpful for people going through similar issues.

I love “listening” to these two characters bark at the TV while watching soaps.

This was the first romance I remember reading. I can’t remember anything other than vampires.

Just started this and it’s seriously the most melodramatic book I’ve read in a long time. Let’s see how this goes.

The worldbuilding is phenomenal.

My first ever romance, as a teen, was LLM. I’m enjoying this one, but this gal is an idiot.

Take a shot every time she says “worked on a swallow” or “working on a swallow.”

The “rescue” we were promised at the end of book 3 is bland and boring. Considering I upped my stars of that book based on the promise made at the end, I’m seriously irritated.

How many times is someone going to complain about Poppy being “random”?

There’s a Nykyos and a Nyktas. A Malik and a Malek.

Come on!

My eyes are glazing over. We are literally rehashing the same BS from the last book.

Wait. What? How does what happened to the darken even make sense? That was just a…random ass way to get rid of some dragons.

How about let’s Nerf Poppy instead because I’m finding it ridiculous that she has all this power and is, wait for it, powerless to save Casteel.

So, I’m still not sure what I think.

But it’s pretty clear that it wasn’t a problem of reading comprehension on the part of the disgruntled.

I’m gonna try to be as fair as possible. But let me say that telling readers that their reading comprehension isn’t on par is probably not the best way to win friends and influence people.

Also, I’m gonna go ahead and say that this doesn’t bode well: “He kicked in the door, revealing a narrow, torch-lit stairwell. He sent me a wild grin that caused my breath to catch because it reminded me of…of him.”

One more question: why is a vampire driving a Land Rover?

Hint: Why not is not a proper answer.

Well, for a second there, it was almost a mystery and I thought it was gonna really take off. So, I wait.

Yay! Now we get to watch the stupid vampires kill animals because they’re too good to kill humans. Like there aren’t human traffickers and shit that would do. 🙄

This is my fifth time (I believe) trying to finish this damn book. I thought audio might be better.

But this book is *deep breath* so. damn. boring. We are now in a whole ass chapter about her riding a damn horse. We’ve also had a chapter about yoga. Also one where Matthew plays pool with some dude and whines.

I’m rereading a bunch of books via audio. Libraries are awesome.

And in this one, we have Bone Cancer!

Also, the heroine is insufferable.
