DNF - a great concept but found it hard to stay engaged, not because it was boring (it wasn't) but because the story arc got a bit lost among all the stuff happening. I didn't get a sense of tension building up, it just kind of throws you in at the deep end and stays there. Also a lot of characters introduced with not much insight or development. Wished Hong Kong would have featured more.

Promising start, getting more disappointed. Great concept marred by sloppy, lazy, repetitive writing and silly inconsistencies. 1. If seraphim are immortal gods, why do they have sex and reproduce like humans with 9-month pregnancies?? 2. why does the author talk about their "humanity" when they're not even human! 3. If I have to read "a smile stretched thinly across his lips" one more time I'm going to scream.
