Really interesting book…. Or rather collection of articles and writings. I had to return it to the library and am now 9th in line to borrow it again.

The articles make several arguments about the contradictions inherent in the US’s start. The sticks discussing property rights vs freedoms is very good.

Enjoyable book. Very unique main character. For the audio book, the actor’s cadence took some time to get used to, but not a major distraction.

I enjoyed the book. As the back cover suggests, the title character is both admirable and despicable. Some interesting observations from the supporting characters as the events unfold.

Almost finished....then my loan expired and it’s out to someone else.
Excellent book. Puts perspective on partisanship history. Both men have experiences and perspectives that few moderners can compare.

First part was confusing/wrong. I understand the idea of sabotage, but it is not used to reduce efficiency. Even at the time this book was written, corporations were bent on maximizing profit. Prices would be driven down IF there was appropriate competition and some arrangement could not ne made. The government sabotage idea is interesting.

Interesting repackaging of several items. Focus on Loss elimination. A couple of tools to help focus improvements on the Key Focus Items identified by senior management.

Finished discussion of cleanliness. I can see some background to the Chofetz Chaim’s work in the discussion of speech.

Auto manufacture. Kaizen. Impact on workers. Being worked to death. Women in work force and their assumed tenure and roles. How America picked up ideas. Unions and adaptation to the new system.

Each trait organized virtue of , elements of, acquiring.

Vigilance- following negative commandments.
Alacrity - following positive commandments (opposite is procrastination).
Cleanliness- avoiding physical temptations (using king David as positive example?)

Clausewitz - lots of discussion regarding reserves. Impact of morale on both soldiers and civilians. Use of terrain. Some points of the formation discussion contradict du Picq. Intrigued me enough to read “On War”, but less insightful than I had hoped.
