Gavin is finished with To Kill a Mockingbird
This book was fairly good for it's age and it provided a satisfying ending with many themes that could be applied and looked at throughout the novel. It ended with the growth of Jem and the opening of her perceptions. However I think Tom is stupid for trying to escape even though he was convicted of the crime he did not commit.

Gavin is finished with Genghis Khan (A Wicked History)
This book was not as interesting to read as the others I had read before it. It was cool to learn about Gengis Khan's past and how he came to rule over large majorities of Asia and China. I wish we knew how he died but it will forever remain a mystery.

So far this book has been very interesting. The trial for Tom has ended and Atticus's defense seemed worthy of convincing the court of Tom's innocence. However, as the court comes to a verdict they find that Tom is guilty. :(

This book has finally picked up on the main plot which is the accusation of a black man which leads to the prosecution of Jem and Scout. More recently, Jem had knocked off the heads of the old ladys flowers and as punishment had to read to her every night. She soon died and we learn she was addicted to morphine.

So far, this book has been pretty slow in the beginning. It has finally started to pick up the plot after chapter 4 where we learn more about the infamous Bradley residence. To me, this is not actually the main plot of the story but instead something that leads to something greater.

So far in the book I learned a little more about Gengis Khan as a kid. Where he was born and who his parents were.

Barely started the book, but the guy sounds pretty mean so far. His plans are to conquer the known world so that shouldn't be good. Also, I learned he was buried in secret to this day which is pretty cool.

Gavin is finished with The Great Gatsby
This book was pretty good for being really old and described the prohibition era very well. The mystery of Gatsby was most compelling to me throughout the book. After his mysteries were solved and his true intentions were revealed he became more romanticized.

I kind of got sidetrack from this book when I started The Great Gatsby. However, this book is kind of different from the movie. The plot and dialogue are all the same, however, certain characters reveal different thoughts and feelings which make the book more interesting.

Gatsby just died... I don't know how to feel about this though because I'm not attached to any of the characters. They all have their problems and they all don't fit a perfect role for a favorite. This book has been very interesting though.

The book so far has been really slow-paced with not so much action. The entertaining part of this novel is the continuous mystery of the characters, including Gatsby. The novel does depict the 1920s in its prohibition-era very well.

So far since my last report, I haven't gotten far in the book. The rebel had made it through the Imperial gate down to the planet's surface undiscovered. They are just about to launch their assault to secure the plans.

Since my last goodreads update I have progressed greatly in the book. Just like the film, the rebels are now going down to the planet of Skariff to steal the plans for the Empires death machine. The book is quite different from the movie in one way that is constant through out the book and that is each characters thoughts and feels about the situations they are put into.

Currently, Jyn, K2, and Cassian have found Saws rebellion. However, they were in the middle of a heist against the Empire for some power called Kyber Crystals so they were forced into the heist in order to get the attention of the rouge rebellion. Saws rebels had kidnapped Jyn, K2, and Cassian to take them to Saws base to question them and learn if they are true as to what they say.

So far the book has still been like the film with just a few hidden extras. So far the main characters have just reach Jedha and are meeting the guardians of the will. They have yet to find Saw but they should soon based on the film.

So far the book has really progressed since I first left off. Jyn has now been rescued from imprisonment and is traveling to Jedha to make contact with Saw for the rebellion. So far there has only been a little extra added compared to the film and the jokes are not executed as great as in the movie.

So far I have only barely started the book. It is very good and close to being like the movie but has a ton of additional dialogue added. I'm very interested in found out how much more there is in the book than in the movie.

Gavin is finished with Hannibal: Rome's Worst Nightmare
The book was really good and shows the true power Hannibal had over Rome. To think he made the decision not to invade Rome is mind-blowing. If he would have done so the world would be vastly different in many aspects. He also wouldn't have ended up losing the war.

So far this book has been interesting and entertaining. I am at the point where Hannibal and his troops have survived the alps and are about to take on Rome. What is cool about this is that Rome is a superpower that hasn't met a worthy opponent, but only Hannibals strongest men survived the alps which cut through Rome like butter.

Gavin is finished with Surviving the Angel of Death: The True Story of a Mengele Twin in Auschwitz
This book was very interesting about life of Jewish twins in Auschwitz. It was neat to learn the story of the twin survivors of the experimental horrors. It also makes you wonder what Mengele truly found out while experimenting on these children.

This book has still so far gone at a slow pace. The family has yet gotten into anything really dangerous or threatening. So far the only thing to look forward to is the family's last trip to the boat wreck.

Currently, in this book, nothing exciting has happened just yet. I still think the father knows too much about survival than he should and this will probably continue to bother me throughout my remaining pages. Also, another bone I have to pick is the fact that the family has had no talks or plans on how to be rescued from this island. It is as if they wanted this all along.

So far this book is going well but slowing its pace down a bit. The family is still discovering new things and ways of living on the island. The only "exciting" thing so far is that they made a treehouse to live in.

So far this book has been enjoyable and interesting. The only problem I have with it at the moment is that the father in the story knows way too much about survival on a suspicious level. Also, I may not be far enough in the book yet but the family hasn't really found any problems or struggles to survive on the island. They could practically live on it and be fine.

So far this book is coming across as a good read (no pun intended). The more and more I read, the more appealing it becomes. The only grievance I have with this story so far is that only all of the family survived the boat wreck together with supposedly no other survivors. It would have been a little more interesting if a crew member or two had to tag in along for everyone's survival.

Currently within this book I have found Hitler's teenage years very interesting. He shares what he thought about the country of Austria and the combination of Austria-Germany as well as his interests in seeking a career in art. The only thing I don't like so far is the combination of other germans that he saw to be heroes and added those thoughts and what they did within the same place as his teenage years.
